Dr. Karen provides a variety of services for individuals, couples, families, children and small business. Her positive and caring solution-oriented aproach draws from a variety of traditional orientations and modern-age concepts.
Qualifications:
Dr. Karen has over 25 years of therapy experience with individuals feeling overwhelmed or stuck, couples with communication problems or in crisis, pre-marital counseling, children with behavior and attitude problems and family conflict. She holds a Ph.D. in both Clinical and Organizational Psychology and is a licensed Marriage, Child and Family Therapist. Additionally, she is completing a two- year spiritual practitioner course which supplements her therapy program. Some of her qualifications are:
• A mental health license since 1983 in Individual, Marriage, Family & Child Therapy
• Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology Psychology
• Background in Children and Teen Services. Family therapy orientation is typically used with teens.
• Advanced post-graduate training in Structural Family Therapy at UCI Medical Center.
• Specializations in addictions and Infidelity - including emotional affairs, cybersex and sex addiction
• On-going continuing education in individual, marriage and family therapy. Recent examples include spiritual healing, step-parenting, anxiety and anger strategies, human sexuality, infidelity, mindfulness, and healing meditations.
• Member of Marriage Friendly Therapists--Divorce is not always the right answer.
• A high success rate of strengthening couples relationships when they are in transition or a crisis.
• An approved supervisor with two Intern Practitioners, Ashley Blackett M.A., and April Horsley M.A.
